NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde received ministerial approval to form a single CHP for Glasgow City. Therefore, there are now six CHPs within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
In 2006, five Community Health and Social Care Partnerships (CHCPs) were created, covering East Glasgow, North Glasgow, South East Glasgow, South West Glasgow and West Glasgow. These CHCPs have now merged into Glasgow City CHP and will be sub divided into three management sectors at local level.
